Ebb Tide – A journey with the tides – Volume 1
This is a photo I took when I went to a beautiful little island in Brittany at ebb tide. You can go there only when the water retreats. You have to walk up a hill where the lighthouse seems to watch over the bay and over a little secret garden. At ebb tide, this island opens the door for you. A place to be by yourself, to relax, to go within and find peace. Every time I go there, it’s like leaving everything that bothers me behind. It’s embarking on a journey with the ocean as your guide, with a new hope on the horizon of dawn. When I think…

Stuck in the sand
I stand here on the shore, both feet firmly placed onto the sand and watch how the tide is running out. The horizon is blurred, tears running down my cheeks. While my feet sink deeper and deeper into the muddy ground I wonder where all these years have gone by. Every year, so many tides feel the same, lost in my way, a mind filled with overwhelming thoughts, fears and doubts, full of regrets of what could have been. I am stuck in the sand, nowhere to go. The water flows to the horizon merging with the sky. Where will the waves go, which shore will they reach? They are…

The season of the tides
Sometimes life puts you in a season of hold, as if it wants you to stay ashore, to stand still and rest. This is a time of healing, a process of going inward and listening, listening to your body that has endured so much to keep you safe and alive. The last few months have been a time of transformation, growing, healing and learning to trust again. To trust my body and soul, to trust that the tide will come back and take me to the open sea again, to new horizons, to places where my heart belongs. I’m slowly emerging from this phase where nothing seems to make sense, a time…

Create a to-enjoy-list instead of a to-do-list
The first month of the year is nearly over and I would love to explore the topic of goal setting with you.I don’t know how it is for you but I love to take on a challenge and set myself goals and yes, I have to admit I did make new year’s resolutions. It makes me feel excited and motivated and I often go all in, in a head-over-heels-dive-in-style like I used to call it. That was my list I came up with on New Year’s Day: You’re probably guessing where this all went. This schedule didn’t survive the first week of the year. I should have known better and guess what,…

The stages of the journey to freedom – a book intro
Freedom is waiting on the other shore This title came to me even before I had written a single word. These words were in my mind as a guideline what this book is all about: It’s about a journey to freedom, about going on adventures and exploring other shores but also about the waiting part of this journey, of things that are holding you back, the fear of leaving the safe shore, the life you already know. Sometimes the journey needs patience or stepping back. These kinds of journeys come in cycles, in the process of letting go, of healing and transformation and then beginning anew. The journey to freedom…

A journey with the tides
Every journey starts with the first rays of hope. It’s this nudge that let you go for undiscovered places, the excitement for unknown paths. It starts with you catching the light, letting the thoughts and emotions flow, getting things cleared that are holding you back. Every journey is stepping into the healing and refreshing energy of nature, it’s trusting and letting things unfold. It’s being in awe, experiencing comfort, the inner peace and freedom you’ll find within. Every journey starts with the decision from the heart, the courage to walk with your heart as your lighthouse. It’s remembering your ocean within, the waves of your soul, the treasures and abundance…

What does freedom look like?
Is freedom a place you can choose, a place where you feel home and you belong? Is it the choice to leave the known behind, letting go of the old? Is freedom timeless, or the time you choose to spend with what makes you feel alive and joyful? Is it choosing something that gives your life a touch of eternity? Is freedom earning and spending your resources and energy for something that is meaningful to you, that gives your life and others purpose? Is freedom being connected to a source that makes your life flow in abundance? Is freedom only a feeling that you have access to wherever you are,…

A new way of defining success
How do you define success for yourself? When do you feel successful? Is it even something you strive for? I think we can’t escape the constant drive for success, accomplishment and productivity. Our society and how we were raised in the capitalistic world rules this way. Is there a way out of this burden? When someone asks me how I define success for myself, I always say that it would feel like freedom, connection, abundance, joy, creativity, authenticity. But what if these terms are only a different description of the same striving and hustle culture: a striving to avoid, to get away from a feeling like sadness, loneliness, heaviness, separation,…

Are we addicted to the future?
Is the hustle culture, the striving and becoming more productive and successful preventing us from living our life in the here and now? Are these endless to-do-lists a sign how disconnected we became to ourselves, to what really matters in life? Is this clinging to an outcome, to a specific goal a kind of addiction, an attachment to a future we wish we can control? Are we addicted to creating a comfort zone that makes us feel safe and successful, that we are in charge, a place where we don’t have to feel insecurities, fear, loneliness and uncertainty? Do we give in to the false belief that we only have…
